Aunt Lo’s Cookie Connection

LoLo Dots are made with just 6 simple ingredients, no fillers or preservatives. You can taste the buttery goodness in every bite.  They have a salty-sweet taste that keeps you coming back for more. They are also about 50% larger than other thumbprint cookies sold in stores and bakeries around the Chattanooga area, so they are a softer cookie with lots of flavor.

Chattanooga-made since the 1850’s

My great-great-grandfather, Jacob Kunz, started a grocery and bakery on Market St. when he came to  Chattanooga, TN in the 1850’s. The recipe for LoLo Dots is adapted from one of his and was passed down to me from his granddaughter, my great Aunt Dot. My younger cousins and nieces called me LoLo when they were younger and couldn’t pronounce my name. So when I was looking for a name to call my cookies one of my cousins suggested LoLo Dots, for Aunt Dot and because of the dot of icing that makes the cookies so colorful and fun.

“I have always made LoLo Dots. As a small child I made them with my mother every Christmas.”

“Aunt Lo’s Cookie Connection came into being when I was looking for a way to contribute to my family and still be able to be available to my children.  I have always made LoLo Dots. As a small child I made them with my mother every Christmas.  As an adult I started making LoLo Dots for my family and neighbors for Christmas.  People really enjoyed them and started asking for them at other times. I had a friend with a bakery and she started selling them.  They went over so well I decided to make them available in local gift shops.”
